Facilitation of Care Learning Series
On behalf of First Peoples Wellness Circle, we are very excited to share with you our new Facilitation of Care Learning Series (FCLS) scheduled to begin this month. The FCLS is designed for individuals providing wellness support(s) to First Nation community members. The FCLS will be guided by the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum (FNMWC) Framework.
The primary goal of FCLS is to provide a safe learning space to share knowledge to support and improve wellness outcomes for all First Nation people. The FCLS will simulate a consultation of care model. The delivery of the FCLS will be aligned with a two-eyed seeing approach in honouring two perspectives of traditional and western healing approaches and practices; that are of equal importance. The primary knowledge source will be focused on traditional knowledge, representing diverse teachings across Turtle Island. The FCLS will also highlight practice-based evidence which will be complemented with western knowledge and research that is connected to First Nations cultural knowledge.
The FCLS will be structured with a presentation, case study and discussions intended to be engaging, and experiential. We are looking for workforce members who are able to commit to meeting twice a month, sessions will be held virtually by zoom and there is no cost to participate. A certificate of attendance will be provided.
