Melissa Dedemus
Melissa is a dedicated professional who joined the team in October 2022. Her background in housing and development galvanized her passion for strengthening community support services, and she is an advocate for advancing social equity goals. She possesses over 4 years of experience on the Board of Directors with a supportive housing non-profit organization and previously volunteered in the field of domestic violence services. Melissa earned her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from the University of Calgary in 2017 and is currently working on a Master’s degree in Planning at the University of Waterloo, with her primary research interests being in community development, sustainability, and inclusive design.
Growing up in the mountainous traditional territory of the Ktunaxa Nation, she cares deeply about the environment and enjoys being outdoors and connecting with nature. Melissa spends her free time cycling, listening to podcasts, exploring used book shops, and being with family and friends.
