What Justice Looks Like: New Insights from the Anti-Indigenous Racism Project

February 27, 2026

We are proud to share “What Justice Looks Like: Understanding Inuit and Indigenous Scholars’ Experience” – an added report to the Anti-Indigenous Racism (AIR) Project.

Led by First Peoples Wellness Circle, roundtables were held to discuss the Inuit and Indigenous scholar’s experiences as it pertains to mental wellness delivery and within university settings. Indigenous voices were centred and highlighted, as stories and knowledge were amalgamated into actionable recommendations to improve cultural safety and to support meaningful, respectful care of Indigenous peoples.

Through learning and reflection, the “What Justice Looks Like: Understanding Inuit and Indigenous Scholars’ Experience” work increased awareness of the impact of colonial history, systemic racism, and privilege. Equally, this work demonstrated the perseverance and resilience of Inuit peoples and Indigenous scholars as they continue to work towards strengthening equitable and safe mental wellness care, as outlined in the Calls to Action.

The report is available now in English and French.
